About the event
Description: Children, youth, and families throughout Haiti have been faced with increasing stress, disaster, and violence in their communities and homes. Join The Haiti Family Care Network’s online workshop to learn more about and participate in discussions about how these exposures to traumatic events are impacting the mental health and wellbeing of people of all ages, and strategies to help cope and build resiliency in the midst of crisis.
Presenter: Erika Charles, a member of the HFCN Leadership Council, is a specialist in global mental health and psychosocial support, with over ten years’ experience helping children and families in crisis around the world. She has been living and working in Haiti since 2013 where she directs Espere Community Counseling Center, an organization that provides mental health education and counseling services to individuals, families, orphanages, schools, and other community organizations.
